Welcome

All the cute and the precious have been found. All the kitties and puppies have homes. The candy colored, the eco-friendly, the hipsters of the handmade are all duly covered elsewhere. Here I will find the slightly odd, the darkly beautiful, the elegant and steamy pieces of goodness. I am very particular in my tastes and though I promise you that I will share nothing but the most intriguing of my discoveries, you may not always like them. I must also confess that I have no real artistic nor fashion background to base my finds upon. These are simply discoveries dug up from the depths of etsy or perhaps elsewhere, brushed off and presented for your approval.

Brown Coats

Yes, I'm Aware, There Are No Coats1. Teasdale - Lastwear
2. Brown Floral Ruffly Wrap Pants - weaseltree
3. 2 in 1 Stonewashed Rusty Brown Skirt or Pants - beyondclothing
4. Organic BUSTIER Chest-Halter Top S-L - alterecoclothing
The title here of course refers to the short lived Firefly series and how wonderfully these pieces would fit in that future world. It might be considered a space western, but I don't think I've met a Steampunker yet that didn't enjoy it. I miss Firefly, but at least the Wunderkammer lets me pretend I live there for a bit.

Spine

How's This For Having A Little Backbone?1. Steampunk Anatomy - MarbleCityGlassworks
2. Skeletie. Standard or narrow width black microfiber necktie - toybreaker
3. The Spine Spoon Wooden Sculptural Spoon - Spoontaneous
4. Human Spine Screen Print Hand-Colored with Walnut Ink - SweetRuination
Blame this one on that first sculpture there. I saw it and spent what seems like forever searching for pieces to fit the theme that would allow me to display it properly. Not that the other pieces aren't worthy of praise. Also, I wouldn't try picking up that spoon if I were you. Nothing says let's just get take out like a utensil with thorns.

2. Resolve - WoebegoneArt
3. Circus Photograph Surreal Blind Leading the Blind - themorbidthemerrier

Gotta Hand It To You

Those Are Some Eye Catching Gloves
1. Oilslick short fingerless gloves in latex like finishing - PlastikWrap
2. Riva - Leather Gloves with Rivets and Chain - ashesandempires
3. Mosaic Latex Gloves - collectivechaos
4. Perforated Leather Side Zip Fingerless Gloves - laurenshari13
Sure, they don't seem like they're keeping your extremities all that warm, but I don't think that's the point here, is it? These are accessories to make a statement subtle or grand. I think they might also inspire a just a little envy.

It Sound Like Bugs

I Hate Bugs1. Stormswarm Insect - liquidsolution
2. geared cicada - RaSaDa
3. Stinger Brooch - DivineIguana
4. Crypto-Entomology - The Locksmith Beetle - Indigolights
Well, clearly I do not actually hate bugs, I did however watch The Mummy recently, so there's that explanation. I am always amazed at the artistic depiction of insects particularly those with steampunk leanings. The are ridiculously complicated little creatures and yet we seem imagine that we could build them better. We are foolish, creative, but foolish.

Black Celebration

We've Seen The Back Of Another Year
1. Excarnate Mask
2. A Lovecraft Retrospective art book
3. Horned Skull
4. Watcher
All pieces by mrsoles
I love...Lovecraft and when I first spied this shop I spent far too long trying to pick the right piece and feature for the Wunderkammer. Finally I just decided to give it a whole feature to itself. The pieces are clearly meticulously created, disturbing and oddly beautiful. Sure it might seem a macabre way to start the new year, but that's how we roll around here, that is how we roll.
