All the cute and the precious have been found. All the kitties and puppies have homes. The candy colored, the eco-friendly, the hipsters of the handmade are all duly covered elsewhere. Here I will find the slightly odd, the darkly beautiful, the elegant and steamy pieces of goodness. I am very particular in my tastes and though I promise you that I will share nothing but the most intriguing of my discoveries, you may not always like them. I must also confess that I have no real artistic nor fashion background to base my finds upon. These are simply discoveries dug up from the depths of etsy or perhaps elsewhere, brushed off and presented for your approval.

2. Cyberpunk Mad Max Shoulder Spike Costume Renaissance Tribal Fair - onederland
3. Bad Studded Duster Eco Friendly Designer Wear - Rezoom
4. Post Apocalyptic Thunderdome Sprocket Necklace Bling - DartHeart
Travel to the farthest reaches of your imagination and you might end up in a world like this. Weapons, clothing, jewelry all recycled not only out of necessity, but to make you look as bad ass as possible. Walk softly covered in rubber and spikes and carry a big...axe?

Far East

A Little Asian Influence Today1. Autumn Gardens Wa-Loli kimono styled bustle dress - taeliac
2. CHOPSTICKS Pendant Necklace - CosmicFirefly
3. Antique Chinese Cut Coin Medallion w/ Yin Yang, I Ching, Dragons - petsalad
4. Modern day Geisha, RED dress - PlastikWrap
I've always had a bit of love for the Japanese and Chinese cultures. So wrapped in history different from anything I've known. I suppose that's the romance with it though, it is so different from the west we're comfortable with. I thought I'd try to find some different items influenced by the culture each in its own way and I did. Gorgeous clothing, quirky jewelry and a piece of art from a coin, beautiful.

Mysterious and a Bit Frightening Really.1. Gilded Steampunk Cuttlefish Necklace - noadi
2. 3.5 X 5 Inch BLUE OCTOPUS Print Scalloped Black Border - marystracle
3. Cold Rain On Warm Skin - gorjuss
4. Squid Bronze Pendant - dragonstreasure
These tentacled creatures are everywhere. From viral videos of vampire squids to mass produced octopus charms added to, well everything. As always I looked for things that were a little bit different. I found polymer clay creatures, art both cute and slightly scary and a hand cast squid pendant. I still don't ever want to meet one outside an aquarium though.

Sexy, Sultry and Steamy1.Something Wicked--mischievous Fairy Art Print by J. Corsentino - timeofthefaeries
2. Steam punk military girly black overbust corset with braces - freyagushi
3. Inked Mermaid. Full Costume - Blacklotusclothing
4. SteamPunk Fine art Print - chiStudios
I admit that I'm attracted to a pretty picture. There are amazing pieces I'll never featured because the photos are shite and there are pieces I'd never own, but the pictures are amazing. These listing photos are pieces of art in their own right...yes I know two of them are actually pieces of art. The point is...aren't these some hot and sexy images? I thought so.

Keyed Off

Steampunk, goggles, gears and keys.1. Passage Necklace no. 143 - sojourncuriosities
2. Ornate VICTORIAN door plate and keys assemblage collage altered wall art - gymbohannah
3. Steampunk Quilt - Aranel
4. Who Holds The Key - Mini Copper Journal - EKCreations
It may take a month of Sundays to really explain what Steampunk is to the uninitiated, but aesthetically, in a few words, you can say goggles, gears and keys and they'll have the gist. I've done goggles and gears so here's keys. Try searching for keys and you'll find enough assemblage jewelry to kill a person with, but sift carefully and you might find a few gems like this journal or quilt. There are also many works of art, photos and bits and bobs for every taste.

Bits and Bobs and Odd and Otter1. Oberon Otter - motil
2. Limited Edition Cloud Wolf Final Fantasy Knocker - veijanikita
3. Perilous - remnants
4. Steampunk Metal Bra series 002 - brooksbot75
Looking for one thing I often find another. Then these odd bits begin to build up without a proper theme, but still deserving of mention. Here are a few I've collected from the amazingly bizarre and beautiful to a little geeky gamer cool. No, I've never wear a metal bra, but it sure is eye candy and I'm afraid the otter might scare the children, but what an amazing piece of art. I'm equally afraid my husband will recognize the knocker. To top it off, here's a piece of jewelry odd as it is potentially dangerous. Enjoy.

Go Ahead, Dress Up And Pretend1. Steampunk Goth Cirque OOAK ball gown - kimonogal
2. 'GOTH MOTH' Set Corset with Ruffle Train Skirt - OOAK - akashacouture
3. Silver Poet Aristocrat - CelestialShadow
4. Mrs. Lovetts costume replica - EveningArwen
I try hard to find wonderful things to wear everyday, but sometimes you really do just want to go all out and dress to the nines. Perhaps my idea of the nines is a bit different than your average person, but I imagine so is yours. Whether you are into the whole cosplay scene, just dress up for Halloween or you're lucky enough to have balls to attend, these outfits will get you noticed.

It's Where All my Crap Is1. Lady in Fancy Hat silkscreened cotton canvas throw pillow - utilitarianfranchise
2. Balloon and Cat - Wall Decal - shadowtheatre
3. Wall Clock Face Round Light Switch Plate Cover - ImpressionsExpress
4. Arsenic and Old Lace - Lamplighter
One thing is clear as I prepare to move...I need cooler crap. So I found some nice steampunk wares for the home that are still subtle enough for everyday use. There were a plethora of similar throw pillows to class up the joint as well as many interesting wall decals. I thought the switch plate covers were quite cute and you simply cannot go wrong with an elaborate lamp shade. Full disclosure, yes I did do the tatting on that lamp.

Here, There Be Dragons

May I present my first love, the dragon.1. Sky Captain Elite Dragon Ring Tiger eye and silver - Spicedragon
2. Steampunk Clutch - FamilySkiners
3. D is for Dragon -8x10 Print - EmilyBalivet
4. Fire Dragon Wings of Flames Steampunk Upcycled - riveng
Dragons, well, we all know dragons. They can be steampunk, gothic, fantastical, oriental, scary, dark, sunny or cute. They are a primal image and I've chosen a few darker ones as that's usually the side I love. Though honestly my house is filled with dragon figures both dark and cute, seriously...full.

Ah, liquor...is there anything you can't make better?1. Guardian of the Sherry- lion liquor tag necklace - etcetrix
2. ABSINTHE --- Solid STERLING SILVER Liquor Label Necklace - nouveaumotley
3. Pick your Poison - Reversable Vintage Brandy or Scotch Liquor Label Necklace - BellaLili
4. Laundry and Bourbon - Vintage Whiskey Tag and Chandelier Crystal Necklace - NOOBOO
I'm not a big drinker, in fact I've barely had a few glasses of wine since I stopped nursing my last child. I know, too much information, but I've always loved the art of liquor. The magical Victorian way it can be depicted. I also don't dig on assemblage jewelry because it's generally built on mass produced charms and filigree pieces, but these simple, bold necklaces are amazing. Made with vintage decanter tags, I think they should be the next Neo-Victorian trend.

Time again to feature the Wunderkammer on the Wunderkammer.1. Cabinet of Curiosities - WinonaCookie
2. Temple Cabinet - relicbox
3. Bird Skull Drawer Pull Cabinet Knob cast metal - billyblue22

The lovely Ramona of WinonaCookie was kind enough to share that her cabinet was inspired by this blog, so it had to make an appearance here. Then I thought perhaps you'd like to fill your own cabinet and you might like an interesting empty one. Or maybe you have a boring cabinet that would be forever transformed with the addition of these amazing pull knobs. If you'd prefer a pre-filled cabinet I found another of those as well. Maybe next time I'll look for thing to put in the cabinets...the possibilities are endless.

Cute, but Creepy1. Little Devil and her Fairy Tale Garden - Pinkytoast
2. Skull Head Doll - CreepyDolls
3. Garden of Nothing - myeclecticmind
4. Bog Zombie - GraveWorld
So there was a lot of talk about zombie corpse eating robots yesterday. Yes, I know that sounds odd, but it got me thinking about things that were both cute and disturbingly creepy at the same time. Of course I avoided robots because honestly I'm still shuddering about that story. Instead I found creepy dolls, zombie skulls and some fairy tale imagery that just creeps me out a little.

The Explorer

Adventure is where you find in, in the sky, on land or sea.1. The Explorer's Box - Red Oak Stain - SixthandElm
2. Mechanical Moon - rogerjporter
3. Expedition Tool Kit - nullalux
4. The Traveller - Necklace - SixAstray
I find that many steampunk lovers also love to go exploring. Doesn't really matter where you go, real or imagined, you'll need some tools. You'll certainly find a memento or two and you'll need someplace amazing to keep them. When you get home, you'll want to imagine your next adventure somewhere even more fantastical...the Moon perhaps, to find out if it's made of green cheese or does it have a machine center?

2. Antique-Style Brass Winged Wine Corkscrew - Dyslexia - gearbox
3. 11th Hour - One of a Kind Steampunk Flask - FeliciaBleuRose
4. Tshirt - The Skeleton Key - AkumuInk
Looking back at recent posts, I realize I've been leaning a little too girly lately. Allow me to remedy the situation with these manly gems. Black soap, objects associated with boozing it up and for the final touch, one of my fave man shirts. Yes, I know that all these things are female appropriate as well, but we'll just pretend I did it all for the gentlemen.

2. Grumpy Octopus, cap sleeve shirt with iridescent print - bitchcraft
3. Behemoth - Olive - ironspider
4. Mermaid V-Neck T-Shirt - Deadworry
Just because you want to be comfortable doesn't mean you must look like a shlub. I searched for t-shirts with striking images and good looking cuts. Don't ask me exactly why I picked the prints I did. I've no answer for you. They're a little bit odd, a little bit goth, a little bit just right.

By The Sea

Left my soul there, down by the Sea1. Cretaceous Mermaid dinosaur sea monster gothic fantasy fairy art print - Strangeling
2. Small Quartet - Octopus Tentacle Earrings - OctopusMe
3. Seahorse Pendant - Peridot - Hibernacula
4. Sea Witch - mscorley
There is strangeness there, by the sea. A calm and cool odd that permeates the air. Creatures so alien, they might as well be fantasy. Since I'm off to the coast on my own ocean adventure, it was only right that I leave you with a little of the odd to hold you over.

3. Sock Air Kraken OOAK - figurativepie
4. Come Fly Away With Me Steampunk Dirigible - iluvlucy8
Got little ones in your life? Want to raise them just a bit different? Fill their rooms with colorful images of dirigibles. Give them a stuffed air kraken and start their love of alternate science with an Insect collecting unit. Soon enough they'll be asking for their very own goggles and the adventures will begin.

Oh my goodness gothness, aren't these hot?1. Bolero - motheroflondon
2. Heretic Halter Top - morphclothing
3. BLACK LINEN STEAMPUNK Short-Sleeve Top - angelsecret
4. Ruffle Top - FierceCouture
Every time I go searching for new things to feature I fear there will be nothing new listed to pique my interest. Then, out of the blue, one thing, then another catches my eye. This time started with the linen steampunk top that I now want so bad I can taste it. Then more stunning, sexy pieces, that granted, I can't really get away with, popped up. I might not be able to wear everything here, but oh the eye candy and you must see the other piece motheroflondon has listed...wow.

It's getter harder and harder to breath.1. Post Apocalyptic Circus Woman print - RichterFineArt
2. GASMASK solid sterling silver necklace - ballandchain
3. Steampunk gas mask in black leather - TomBanwell
4. A Day in the Park - 5x7 Steampunk/Apocalypse Collage - downanddirty
In the post apocalyptic wasteland, will the air be impossible to breath? Will there be a market for fine ladies gas masks? Will only the rich be able to stroll the streets safe from the toxicity or will we be made equal behind the same stark masks? I assume that the answer to these questions will only be found in our imaginations. So here are some of those imaginings.

Do you dream of the green fairy?1. Fridge Magnet - Absinthe - WinonaCookie
2. Absinthe Lips (lip balm) - For StrangeWomen
3. Olde Absinthe Lace Slave Cuff Armwarmer - ravenevejewelry
4. Absinthe Girl Mini - danielbombardier
Some things are so full of mystery and history that they inspire a level of devotion that moves far beyond their reality. Absinthe is just a drink, sure it's a green, alcoholic drink, but still just a drink. It is the history, the myth, that has raised it above it's station to a place of honor. People pay homage to it in so many ways, art and jewelry, clothing and even cosmetics that it's hard to not want to play along.

2. Sailor Swimsuit - FablesByBarrie
3. Navy Retro Swimsuit (Ahoy there) - bettieB
4. SAILOR GIRL rockabilly WIGGLE DRESS - MaisyBrownReproRetro
I bet you thought that the wunderkammer couldn't do patriotic, well it was a bit of a stretch. Of course all I had to do was search rockabilly to find the perfect summer 4th of July pieces. Whether you're bold enough to sport one of these fabulous swimsuits or you'd rather go a little sailor glam with a great dress, you don't have to sacrifice your different style for a little red, white and blue. You can have it both ways.

They weren't exactly what I was looking for, but I'm glad I found them.1. Mephisto's Tears Sterling Silver Sculptural Coiled Necklace - RogueWire
4. Steampunk Gears - metalforge
Sometimes I search with a mission, sometimes I let the search lead me in new directions. I looked at these things and thought, 'well, that's a thing'. A coiled pendant inspired by classical music reminds me a bit of lovecraft. A head, yep an awesome head. Shadow puppets and metal wall art. Somehow it seems right that I combine them all together in my little cabinet of curiosities.

Sleek, Sexy, Silver1. Bio Mechanic Sterling Silver Ring - post
2. Artifact - pin and pendant - OxideStudio
3. Isopoda pendant with chain sterling and brass - purifiedart
4. LN1-G - RachaelGrigulis
Oh, I must admit that is post is full of a lot more want than most of mine. I would absolutely wear anything featured today. Bold pieces made of silver and titanium just dripping with awesome. I wanted futuristic and I found it, from that great ring ripped off a borg to what could only be tiny space ships or at least parts of them. Everything here is just so cyberpunk sexy.
